For difficult to range scenarios, the Field/Forest function matches the range mode to your environment. Use the Field selection in open terrain with targets found in unobstructed expanses. Where other rangefinders are commonly fooled by distant backgrounds, the CRF.1 identifies the target and filters out misreads that are beyond the object.
Conversely, use the Forest selection when you encounter obstructions that may conflict with ranging. Misreadings from foreground obstructions is a common problem that can occur with traditional rangefinders. By identifying the farther target, the CRF.1 filters out trees, limbs, and other obstructions that typically hinder laser readings.
